Here are my photos from the recent visit to the Soswaewon Garden in South Korea. It is such a beautiful place that will elevate your perception in the relationship between man and nature.

History and philosophy
The garden was created in the 16th century by the scholar Yang San-bo (1503-1557). After his teacher, Jo Gwang-jo, was exiled and killed in a political purge, Yang San-bo became disillusioned with politics and retired to his hometown. He built Soswaewon not as a display of wealth, but as a “scholar’s retreat” — a place to live in harmony with nature, find peace, and cultivate the mind. It was designed to be a living testament to Neo-Confucian ideals, emphasizing simplicity, moderation, and a deep connection with the natural world.
View on my way up
I’m on a cheap lens and I didn’t even have my hood on and the flare was just perfect for my shots. I’m not a very professional photographer. I shot on my simple instinc.

After I made my way down, I didn’t even realize that those two lump on bushes are actually unmark tomb of a long-lost history to the place.
